
Barbara Goodstein
AXA Equitable
Barbara Goodstein is an executive vice president, chief innovation officer, chief marketing officer and chief digital officer for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company. She is also a member of the Executive Management Committee.
As chief innovation officer, Barbara is responsible for the design and implementation of AXA Equitable’s enterprise-wide innovation strategy. She leads the innovation business group, responsible for directing all research of new business concepts and evaluating their potential for the company.
As chief marketing officer and chief digital officer, she has overall responsibility for the company’s centralized marketing, corporate advertising, corporate communications and internet strategy and development business teams, as well as the AXA Foundation. She is also the head of the company’s women’s empowerment and education program The AXA Equitable Connection: Women, Wealth and Wisdom, and champions the women’s initiative globally.
Ms. Goodstein is a board member of AXA Advisors, LLC, the company’s broker/dealer and retail distribution channel. She is also a board member of AXA Assistance, an AXA Group company.
Barbara joined AXA Equitable in July 2005 as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. She became chief innovation officer in 2007. Immediately prior to joining AXA Equitable,she was senior vice president of Personal Financial Services for JP Morgan Chase, where she created the platform that provides a broad range of banking and brokerage services to mass affluent clients within the branch system. Earlier, Ms. Goodstein was creator, president and CEO of Instinet.com, a retail entry into the online brokerage industry. She also held senior management positions at Scudder Kemper Investments, Van Eck Global, Bankers Trust, American Express, Vintners International and Warner Lambert.
Barbara was named one of the Top 25 Women in Finance in U.S.Banker’s Most Powerful Women Annual Ranking, 2009 & 2008. She is a member of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, and a mentor in the U.S. Department of State & Fortune’s Global Women Partnership Mentoring Program.
