In the spring of 2009, the economy crashed, the Dow dropped to its lowest point in 12 years, and layoffs dominated the business press. While others tend to panic in such an environment, Christian opted to put his cock on the block. To him it was the perfect time to start an agency, and so he left the safety and security of his position as Head of Client Service on Red Bull to venture out on his own.
Growing out of a contrarian birth, Mistress, just into her third year, has already found notable success. She’s expanded from five founding partners to a staff of more than 20. She’s won Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year award at her size. She’s attracted clients such as Hot Wheels, Coca-Cola, Jägermeister, ESPN, Red Bull, Papaya King, 2K Sports, and House of Blues. And turning the traditional role of ad agency on its ear, Mistress has made a name for herself by creating record setting stunts and writing and producing long-format branded entertainment featured on Fox Sports and ABC. Thanks to Mistress and her accomplishments, Christian’s cock remains.
Prior to co-founding Mistress, Christian spent time in account and strategic roles at Lowe/SMS on Mercedes-Benz, Ogilvy NY on American Express & Miller Beer, and Kastner & Partners on Red Bull.
