Hank Leber
Agency Nil
After graduating from the VCU Brandcenter last year, Hank Leber found himself trying to get hired in an industry that was hemorrhaging jobs - 50,000 at the time. In this troubled window he started Agency Nil, a crowd-based model that focuses on the collective talent of those who don't have an agency job but are talented and motivated to do great work. The catch: with Agency Nil the client only pays what they think the work is worth after it is done.
Lots of buzz and early interest for Agency Nil got Hank interviews and job interest that were once hard to come by after graduation. He took a job with the planning department at independent shop McKinney in Durham, NC. Agency Nil lives on with new managing partners and a stable of talent that spans as deep as the pool is large.
Hank now works on Nationwide Insurance, Coldwell Banker, Sherwin-Williams, Chambord, Tuaca, and Aprica strollers. Before graduating from VCU he developed the strategy for the launch of Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser American Ale as an intern at DDB Chicago in 2008. There he also worked on Busch, Busch Light, Bud Light, and Wrigley's gums.
