Barry Wacksman

R/GA

Barry Wacksman is responsible for driving growth at one of the world’s most exciting and innovative agencies, R/GA.  His primary roles are helping define the vision of R/GA, expanding the service offering of the agency and overseeing the business development teams that pursue opportunities to expand R/GA’s growth in the U.S. and abroad. Since joining R/GA in 1999, Barry has been responsible for adding many of the world-class brands that make up R/GA’s client roster, from Nike to Verizon to HBO to Johnson & Johnson.

Prior to joining R/GA, Barry was at Ammirati Puris Lintas (APL) Digital, the interactive marketing unit of global advertising network Ammirati Puris Lintas. At APL Digital, he managed the Compaq, Iridium, and LEGO international accounts, and oversaw development of Web marketing, e-business initiatives, and online advertising.

Barry was cofounder and president of Direct Resources Interactive (DRI), the digital marketing arm of Direct Resources International, a New York-based direct marketing agency. At DRI, Barry oversaw account management, production, creative, and new-business functions, and he helped pioneer the application of direct-marketing principles on the Internet for clients that included Time, People, Fortune, Pioneer Mutual Funds, Alfred Dunhill, BellSouth Cellular Corp., and TD Waterhouse.

Barry serves on the board of directors of the Advertising Education Forum (AEF).  He graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in philosophy and was a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at Syracuse University.
